Brian suggested that as sufficient members were present, the society should vote to change the rule of:

residing within a 5-mile radius of Purton in order to join the Society

to;        anyone can join, as long as the number of members does not exceed 40.

Exhibition Information:

Joe explained the forms prepared containing information needed for exhibitors, and those needing to be filled in and returned to him by Friday 16th October.


Exhibitors were reminded that all artists who exhibit must steward. (craft exhibitors do not need to participate in the rota, as they are present throughout the exhibition -or arrange cover between themselves).


Forms can be downloaded from the website-or a printed forms can be supplied.  .


It was emphasized that help will be needed to set up, and take down the exhibition.


Help is needed too to collect and return the advertising boards-stored at Brian Coe’s house.


Members are to take invitations to give out as these are no longer sent out by the society.


Brian Davies agreed to run the refreshments.


A member volunteered to collect the trailer from Lydiard.


Brian and the committee thanked these members.


Additional Information


Alex Crump explained that card sales will be taken on a separate  table at the top, with a separate float (£10) supplied, and the money kept separate from the ‘hung’ work.

Bags will be supplied. The table to be stewarded by the card sellers.


No hanging fee will be charged for items in browsers.


Hanging fees remain the same, with 15% commission on hung items, and 16% on craft, card and browser sales.


Up to 6 pictures may be displayed per artist-although this may be adjusted according to space available.


Bubble wrap to be provided for any picture sales.


Artists were reminded to bring any easels.


The Competition


Chris Rawlings has been in touch with Helen Fudge at St Mary’s School,  and the children of Class 5 will take part.

Prizes for the 3 winners will be given as lat year, and their work displayed at the exhibition.




Tracey explained that a pastel demonstration has been arranged for Sunday 22nd January 2p.m.  The Silver Threads Hall has been booked until 7p.m.-so after the demo, there will be an American Supper.

Depending on the uptake in Purton, the demo may be opened up to other societies.
